KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has affirmed that Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz will retain his post as Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry despite his recent departure from Umno to join PKR. Anwar praised Tengku Zafrul’s performance in managing key investment initiatives, stating that his continued leadership is crucial for the country’s economic agenda.
Addressing media at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2025, Anwar downplayed political speculation surrounding the move, noting that PKR has yet to fully deliberate on Tengku Zafrul’s application to join the party. He urged the public and media to avoid overinterpreting the development, assuring that any decision would be made with fairness and grassroots consultation.
