GEORGE TOWN, June 7 – The Penang state government has launched the Madani Home Ownership Campaign (MOC), offering a five per cent housing discount to Indian Muslims purchasing residential and commercial units from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.
The initiative, part of the Madani Inclusive Property Sector Catalyst Policy, aims to promote homeownership among underserved communities and strengthen inclusivity in the property sector. Announced by State Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo, the campaign includes new affordable housing categories like Rumah MutiaraKu Type D (RMKu D), capped at RM400,000 for households earning up to RM15,000 monthly.
Additional incentives include reduced developer contributions, expanded open market release limits, capped upgrade packages, and compliance exemptions—all designed to boost strategic housing approvals, support developer viability, and foster a sustainable property ecosystem in Penang.
