GEORGE TOWN, June 12 – The Fortune Court Apartment Residents’ Association has issued an official statement addressing the recent water supply disruptions affecting upper-floor units. Following residents’ complaints, the Association acted swiftly by engaging YB Joseph Ng Soon Siang, the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBA), and building management.
A PBA inspection confirmed that low water pressure was the root cause, prompting a temporary pressure increase and a proposed long-term solution via a booster pump installation. However, despite initial verbal support, the Association expressed concern over a sudden reversal by certain management members, who prematurely opposed the proposal in a politically charged press conference.
The Residents’ Association emphasized its commitment to finding practical, sustainable solutions to ensure stable water access for all residents—particularly those on higher floors. While appreciating YB Joseph Ng’s coordination and PBA’s technical response, the Association urged management to resume sincere, fact-based discussions, guided by expert input and regulatory standards.
Stressing that politicization undermines progress, the Association called for unity, integrity, and a long-term perspective to uphold residents’ rights to consistent and safe water supply.
