GEORGE TOWN, June 13 – IJM Land Berhad has announced critical infrastructure updates at THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, including the scheduled dismantling of a pedestrian bridge and the opening of new road access points.
From 16 to 27 June 2025, nightly lane closures will occur from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM along the George Town-bound lanes of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway to facilitate the safe removal of the pedestrian bridge. Motorists are advised to remain cautious and follow all traffic instructions during this period.
In a move to enhance connectivity, IJM Land will open two new traffic access points starting 1 July 2025. These include an elevated road linking Jalan Tunku Kudin (Bayan Lepas-bound) directly into THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, and a new permanent exit road for southbound traffic, replacing the current temporary exit.
With proper signage already in place, these upgrades aim to provide smoother access while maintaining public safety throughout the transition.
