The inaugural Genting Culinary Classic 2025 concluded on a high note at the Genting International Showroom, bringing together 20 exceptional finalists from across Malaysia in a spirited celebration of culinary passion and innovation.
Organised by Resorts World Genting in collaboration with the HAPA Cooking Competition and supported by Tourism Malaysia, the event showcased heartfelt stories and extraordinary talent—including Chef Low Wee Keong’s inspiring Peranakan tribute, former DJ Emely Poon’s homage to traditional Malaysian flavours, and several standout self-taught cooks.
Celebrity chef Martin Yan headlined the event with a live cook-off, and his creations will be featured at High Line and Old Friends Restaurant from 1 July to 30 September, alongside winning competition dishes available throughout the resort.
Highlighting Malaysia’s rich gastronomic diversity in support of the “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign, the event awarded prizes worth up to RM64,000 to top finalists. Grand prize winner Budiman Bistari wowed judges with Ayam Goleh Buah Kulim, a dish praised for its earthy depth and use of the rare buah kulim.
With support from Tourism Malaysia and a commitment to nurturing culinary talent, Resorts World Genting announced plans to return with the Genting Culinary Classic in 2026, reinforcing its mission to position Malaysia as a premier destination for food lovers worldwide.
