KUAAL LUMPUR, June 14 – Kuala Lumpur has been named one of Asia’s top destinations for slow travel, according to a recent report by digital travel platform Agoda. As travelers increasingly seek meaningful, unhurried experiences, Malaysia’s vibrant capital joins cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei as a prime location for longer, more immersive stays.
Agoda’s data highlights a shift in travel trends, where visitors are opting to explore the cultural and culinary depths of their destinations rather than rush through packed itineraries. Kuala Lumpur’s rise in popularity among slow travelers is attributed to its unique mix of tradition and modernity.
From the heritage streets of Little India to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Alongside Langkawi and Johor Bahru, the city leads Malaysia’s list for extended stays. “As life moves faster, more travelers are embracing the idea of slowing down to truly experience a place rather than just pass through it,” said Fabian Teja, Agoda’s Country Director for Malaysia and Brunei.
