KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 – Nestlé Malaysia proudly unveiled its KitKat® Dark Borneo at the Malaysian International Cocoa Fair (MICF) 2025 in Sabah, spotlighting the country’s rich cocoa heritage through a premium single-origin chocolate crafted from 100% locally sourced cocoa beans from Sabah and Sarawak.
As Platinum Sponsor, Nestlé reaffirmed its long-term commitment to sustainable cocoa farming with initiatives like the Nestlé Borneo Cocoa Initiative (NBCI), which empowers local farmers through regenerative agriculture and improved cultivation methods. The event also saw the debut of KitKat® Dark Borneo Ice Cream – a new innovation blending local cocoa excellence with indulgent treat formats.
Produced at Nestlé’s Halal-certified Chembong plant in Negeri Sembilan, KitKat® Dark Borneo represents a bold step in promoting Malaysian cocoa globally, having won the NIQ Breakthrough Innovation Award 2024. With a vision to source 10,000 metric tonnes of cocoa locally by 2034, Nestlé aims to revitalise the domestic cocoa sector while ensuring traceability, ethical sourcing, and environmental stewardship.
