PHNOM PENH, June 19 — The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) held a strategic meeting with Cambodia Airways in Phnom Penh ahead of the airline’s inaugural direct flight service linking Phnom Penh and Penang.
The courtesy visit, led by PCEB CEO Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, focused on fostering joint marketing efforts and long-term collaboration to ensure the route’s success, with both parties discussing initiatives to boost regional connectivity and promote bilateral ties.
Set to launch on 26 June 2025, with twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays, this new route marks a pivotal step in enhancing business, tourism, and cultural exchange between Cambodia and northern Malaysia.
The direct connection not only supports Penang’s positioning as a hub for business events and investment but also opens doors for deeper collaboration across the MICE, heritage, and creative sectors throughout the ASEAN region.
