KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that Malaysia must modernise its industrial, digital, and green growth strategies to achieve its goal of becoming a high-income nation.

Speaking at the Sasana Symposium 2025, Anwar said strong institutions, adaptive policies, and a clear national direction are essential for realising the vision outlined in the Madani Economic Framework.

The framework, he noted, highlights two key commitments: enhancing sectoral competitiveness through digitalisation and sustainability, and ensuring inclusive economic benefits, especially for underserved communities.

He added that Malaysia’s reform agenda hinges on a whole-of-nation approach, focusing on fiscal sustainability, governance, subsidy rationalisation, tax reform, human capital development, and institutional integrity to drive long-term, equitable growth.
