PUTRAJAYA, June 28 — Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has officially taken over the responsibilities of Economy Minister following Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli’s resignation.
The appointment, approved by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was confirmed during the June 25 Cabinet meeting, with Amir Hamzah now charged with restructuring the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) ahead of its parliamentary tabling on July 31.
Amir Hamzah expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him, pledging to align the revised 13MP with the Madani Economic Agenda and current government priorities.
The plan’s overhaul will incorporate updated inputs from ministries and Cabinet feedback to ensure it reflects Malaysia’s evolving economic direction.
