GEORGE TOWN, July 1 – The Penang State Government has announced the postponement of the 2025 State Awards and Decorations Ceremony due to a scheduling conflict with the 269th Conference of Rulers. The events will now take place from 26 to 30 July.
However, 12 July 2025 remains a declared public holiday in conjunction with the 84th birthday celebration of Penang Governor Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Ramli Ngah Talib. Separately, Penang has been officially selected as the national host for Malaysia Day celebrations this year.
To be held on 16 September at the PICCA Convention Centre @ Butterworth Arena. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow welcomed the announcement, thanking the Federal Government for rotating the celebration among Peninsular states and pledging full state support for the event.
