GEORGE TOWN, July 2 – Renowned muralist Ernest Zacharevic is confronting Southeast Asia’s long-standing issue of creative exploitation with his latest exhibition, We Need To Talk, opening 5 July at Cultprint, George Town.
The exhibition blends satire, art, and advocacy to spotlight how independent artists are routinely exploited by corporations, drawing from Zacharevic’s personal fight against the unauthorised use of his iconic Penang murals.
Running until 31 August, the exhibition includes immersive airport-themed installations, public panels, and free IP legal clinics. Key events include a launch party and a panel featuring creative strategist Fey Ilyas and artist Jun Ong, both of whom have faced IP challenges.
