GEORGE TOWN, July 7 — SuperSiC (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of China’s Zhejiang Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. (JSG), has officially broken ground on its new manufacturing facility in Penang.
Spanning 40,000 square meters, the plant will produce up to 240,000 8-inch silicon carbide wafers annually, positioning Malaysia as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
The facility, strategically located in Penang’s thriving tech ecosystem, reflects JSG’s commitment to “glocalisation” and sustainable innovation.
Malaysian and Chinese officials welcomed the investment as a major boost to the National Semiconductor Strategy and a catalyst for future high-tech growth in the region.
