GEORGE TOWN, July 9 – AirAsia is set to bring its signature RedRun to Penang for the first time, following its successful debut in Bali earlier this year. Taking place on Sunday, 28 September 2025 at Gurney Plaza, the RedRun Penang invites thousands of participants from across the region to join in 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM race categories — blending community, culture, and fitness into one vibrant event.

Registration is now open until 18 August via Heyjom, with early bird promo codes available for all categories. The initiative marks a key part of AirAsia’s regional effort to celebrate travel, culture, and community, spotlighting Penang as a hub of heritage, cuisine, and creativity.

“RedRun is more than just a run; it’s a regional movement to connect people through shared experiences,” said Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia. The event will also be complemented by the AirAsia Festival at Gurney Plaza this month.

Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Tuan Wong Hon Wai welcomed the event, noting its potential to boost cultural appreciation and community spirit. With direct connectivity to 12 domestic and international cities, Penang remains one of AirAsia’s top-performing leisure destinations, especially for travellers from Indonesia, China, and Singapore.
