KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 – Qatar Airways has signed a landmark agreement with Barzan Holdings and Satys Aerospace to establish the region’s first widebody aircraft painting facility at Dukhan Air Base.
This strategic initiative will position Qatar as a regional hub for advanced aircraft painting services, accommodating commercial, VIP, and military aircraft while supporting Qatar’s broader vision of enhancing its aviation ecosystem through innovation and local capability building.
Equipped with next-generation digital painting technologies and future-ready robotic systems, the dual-use facility will significantly reduce aircraft ground time by eliminating the need for overseas repainting.
Designed with energy-efficient and eco-friendly systems, the project reflects a strong commitment to sustainability, industry localisation, and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
