GEORGE TOWN, July 12 — 129BPM – Contemporary Hip Hop Dance Theatre, a boundary-breaking production choreographed by Vietnamese-French artist Bui Ngoc Quan, will make its highly anticipated Malaysian debut at George Town Festival 2025.
Co-produced by H2Q Dance Company and the Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City, and managed by Vietnam’s MORUA, the performance takes place on August 4 and 5 at Dewan Sri Pinang. Fusing street dance with contemporary Vietnamese folk music and sculptural fabric elements.
This 70-minute work dives deep into themes of identity, dissonance, and human connection. As dancers stretch their physical and emotional boundaries, 129BPM becomes a bold, rhythmic call to unity in a fragmented, urbanised world.
