KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Hasan met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on July 10 for a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Malaysia–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through deeper cooperation in trade, digital economy, AI, security, and education.
The discussions also focused on enhancing ASEAN–China dialogue relations, with Malaysia reaffirming its full commitment as the Country Coordinator (2024–2027) and expressing appreciation for China’s continued support as Malaysia chairs ASEAN in 2025.
The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to advance regional peace, connectivity, and sustainable development.
