KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — UMNO has expressed gratitude following the Attorney General’s confirmation of the existence of a royal Titah Addendum granting house arrest for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. The party said this officially acknowledges the royal directive related to Najib’s incarceration.
In a statement issued by UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the party also humbly appealed for the mercy and benevolence of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to implement the house arrest order in accordance with His Majesty’s absolute powers under Article 42(1) of the Federal Constitution.
UMNO hopes that through the King’s grace, Najib may finally receive the sentence reduction that was delayed for over a year. “Daulat Tuanku,” the statement concluded, reaffirming loyalty to the monarchy.
