KUALA LUMPUR, August 4 — The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (Content Forum) has welcomed the formation of the Malaysian Media Council (MMC), calling it a pivotal moment in advancing ethical journalism, media independence, and public trust.
Congratulating the newly appointed Founding Board members, the Content Forum expressed its support for a stronger, more accountable media ecosystem. Rafiq Razali, Chairman of the Content Forum, said the MMC’s formation complements the Forum’s ongoing mission under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
To promote responsible self-regulation through the Malaysian Content Code. He encouraged industry players to actively support the MMC’s growth, emphasizing that collaboration and unity are key to shaping a healthier media landscape.
