GEORGE TOWN, July 18 — The Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) has officially congratulated Ong Ching Shi (Charlene) on her appointment as Deputy General Manager, recognising her outstanding contributions to youth empowerment since 2019.
Charlene began her journey in public service as Special Officer to the former State EXCO for Youth and Sports, before joining PYDC in 2021. Among her notable achievements is the establishment of the Penang Youth Volunteer initiative, which has successfully driven active youth participation in community-building efforts.
Her strategic leadership and dedication have helped shape numerous state-level and regional programmes that uplift young people through innovation, collaboration, and capacity building. Charlene’s vision, integrity, and commitment to youth development have inspired many within and beyond PYDC.
Her promotion reflects the organisation’s continued investment in progressive leadership and its mission to empower future generations.
