PUTRAJAYA, July 18 — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has consented to the appointments of several top judicial figures following the advice of the Prime Minister and consultation with the Conference of Rulers.
Dato’ Wan Ahmad Farid bin Wan Salleh has been named the new Chief Justice of the Federal Court, while Dato’ Abu Bakar bin Jais has been appointed as President of the Court of Appeal. Dato’ Hajah Azizah binti Haji Nawawi will serve as the new Chief Judge of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak.
These appointments are made under Clause (1) of Article 122B of the Federal Constitution. The official presentation of appointment letters and oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 28 July 2025 at Istana Negara.
