BATU KAWAN, July 20 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Anwar Ibrahim officially launched the National Unity Week 2025 celebrations today, championing the theme “Harmony in Diversity” to foster deeper understanding and respect among Malaysia’s multiracial and multi-religious communities.
The event highlighted national values of understanding, respect, and acceptance — vital pillars of unity in a plural society. More than 250,000 visitors from all walks of life are expected to join the festivities, which run from July 17 to 20.
The celebration features over 40 major attractions, including 24 ethnic “Rumah KAMI” cultural exhibitions, traditional games, e-sports, food festivals, book fairs, and special concerts by top Malaysian artists.
Activities like the Unity Run and spiritual nights aim to deepen grassroots engagement. The Ministry of National Unity is also rolling out a new approach for future events — integrating Unity Week with minority ethnic cultural celebrations across states, in recognition of Malaysia’s rich heritage.
Minister of National Unity, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, emphasized the government’s commitment to building national solidarity through inclusive, impactful programmes. The event also included the presentation of community grants and scholarships, reinforcing the government’s support for education and grassroots empowerment.
With private sector collaboration, Unity Week 2025 marks a new chapter in celebrating what it means to be Malaysian — united in diversity.
