Apple is still planning to roll out two highly anticipated iOS 26 features that were noticeably absent from this year’s WWDC keynote, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The features, live translation via AirPods and automatic syncing of captive Wi-Fi networks, are expected to arrive in either iOS 26.1 or 26.2 later this year.
Live translation via AirPods will enable users to have real-time multilingual conversations, with AirPods providing translated audio on the fly. Meanwhile, the captive Wi-Fi sync feature will simplify public network logins by syncing Wi-Fi portal credentials across all Apple devices after an initial login.
Gurman notes that Apple avoided announcing features not close to shipping, after criticism last year when several major iOS 25 announcements were delayed. These two features, however, are still on track for a late 2025 release — likely in October or December.
