GEORGE TOWN, July 21 — IAPWA Penang will hold a Vegetarian Charity Dinner on September 28 to raise critical funds for its ongoing stray dog welfare efforts on Penang Island.
The event, taking place at SJKC Shang Wu in Air Itam from 7PM to 10PM, aims to support the organisation’s Trap–Neuter–Return/Adopt (TNR/A) programme, which has humanely neutered over 7,600 dogs since 2018, helping to eliminate culling practices.
With veterinary costs rising and funding limited, IAPWA is calling on animal lovers, businesses, and the public to support the dinner through ticket purchases or sponsorship.
Guests will enjoy a meat-free meal, inspiring rescue stories, and the chance to directly contribute to vaccinations, medical care, and feeding of Penang’s strays. Tickets are RM150 per person or RM1,388 per table, with sponsorship packages offering branding visibility and community impact.
