PUTRAJAYA, July 24 — The MADANI Government will implement two major immediate measures to ease the cost of living for Malaysians, as announced by Prime Minister and Finance Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Beginning 31 August 2025, all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above will receive a one-off RM100 credit via MyKad under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, benefiting 22 million adults with a total allocation of RM2 billion. The credit can be used at over 4,100 retail outlets nationwide for essential goods and will remain valid until 31 December 2025.
In addition, the government will lower the RON95 petrol price to RM1.99 per litre exclusively for Malaysian citizens once targeted fuel subsidy reforms are implemented by the end of September 2025.
This initiative is expected to benefit around 18 million local drivers and gig workers, while foreigners will pay the unsubsidized market rate. Both measures reflect the government’s commitment to redistribute national wealth from improved revenues to all Malaysians as part of the broader MADANI economic reform agenda.
