KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — Intel Corporation’s CEO Lip-Bu Tan has reaffirmed Malaysia’s strategic importance in the company’s global roadmap, announcing that assembly and test operations will be consolidated into larger hubs including its Malaysian facilities.

This move comes as part of a sweeping transformation to boost efficiency, agility, and long-term competitiveness across the tech giant’s global operations. In his message to employees following Intel’s strong Q2 2025 earnings.

Tan emphasized a disciplined approach to factory investments, including the decision to halt expansion in Germany and Poland, while reinforcing its presence in Malaysia and Vietnam. This restructuring aligns with Intel’s renewed focus on cost-efficiency, AI innovation.

And strengthening the x86 ecosystem, positioning Malaysia as a key beneficiary in Intel’s next phase of growth.
