GEORGE TOWN, July 26 – The Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Health have partnered to deliver e-health services through more than 700 National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) across Malaysia’s rural regions.
Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that the initiative, supported by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), will include telehealth services and a pilot programme using drones to deliver medication to remote clinics.
Speaking at the Community Engagement Day in Kinarut, Sabah, Fahmi highlighted the importance of high-speed internet in enabling health screenings and consultations at NADI centres without the need for patients to travel.
Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad affirmed the programme’s potential to improve healthcare accessibility, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak, by empowering rural communities through digital healthcare solutions.
