KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — As 2025 reaches its midpoint, Agoda reveals growing global interest in Penang, one of Malaysia’s top travel destinations. Data from January to May shows a strong upswing in accommodation searches, led by travelers from Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and China.
Notably, interest from Hong Kong soared by 59% year-on-year, while both Indonesia and Australia recorded 21% growth, and the United States showed a 12% rise — highlighting momentum from long-haul visitors.
