JAKARTA, July 28 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will begin a two-day working visit to Indonesia on Monday for the 13th Annual Consultation with President Prabowo Subianto, marking their first formal meeting as national leaders.
The high-level talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, security, food security, education, and regional connectivity, with both nations expected to sign four Memoranda of Understanding.
Anwar, joined by senior ministers and state leaders, will also visit the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta and deliver a Policy Speech in preparation for Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
The annual consultation, held since 2006, underscores the enduring strategic partnership between Malaysia and Indonesia, with bilateral trade reaching RM116.29 billion in 2024 — a 4.5% increase from the previous year.
