KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 – The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has launched the Young Regulators Development Programme (YRDP) in collaboration with the UK’s Durham University, aimed at nurturing future leaders in capital market regulation.
Set to run annually from 2025 to 2027 in Kuala Lumpur, the two-week intensive programme targets early-career regulators from ASEAN and IOSCO member jurisdictions, offering foundational and advanced training in market supervision, fintech, ESG, and Islamic finance.
SC Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi said the initiative reinforces Malaysia’s commitment to building regional regulatory capabilities, fostering international collaboration, and preparing young professionals to navigate complex and evolving capital markets.
Durham University, globally renowned for its excellence in law and finance, will lead the course delivery alongside industry experts, with the inaugural cohort beginning this August.
