KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 – Tourism Malaysia welcomed the inaugural Batik Air flight OD533 from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport to Subang Airport today, marking a key step in enhancing regional air connectivity ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
The flight, carrying 141 passengers, was greeted in a special ceremony attended by representatives from Batik Air, Malaysia Airports, Telekom Malaysia, and Tourism Malaysia. The new daily service is Batik Air’s first international route from Subang Airport, reinforcing its role as a central hub for both domestic and regional travel.
It offers added convenience for business and leisure travellers due to Subang’s proximity to Kuala Lumpur city centre. In tandem, Batik Air also launched direct flights from Subang to Kuching, complementing existing services to Penang, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, and Tawau.
The move is expected to significantly support tourism growth and increase arrivals from Thailand — one of Malaysia’s top source markets.
