GEORGE TOWN, August 1 – Chief Minister of Penang, Chow Kon Yeow, has expressed full support for the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13), calling it aligned with Penang’s Vision 2030 and Malaysia’s MADANI economic aspirations.
With a strong focus on digitalisation, advanced technology, and a human-centric social framework, Chow emphasised that Penang will mobilise its resources and people to fast-track the shift towards a high-value economy and enhanced global competitiveness.
Key infrastructure projects such as the Penang LRT (Laluan Mutiara), the Juru–Sungai Dua PLUS Highway expansion, and the much-anticipated Penang International Airport (PIA) upgrade were highlighted as pivotal developments.
Chow also welcomed healthcare and agricultural initiatives like the upgrade of Padang Menora’s rural clinic and the five-season paddy programme, which reinforce Penang’s role in national investment, food security, and sustainable regional growth.
