CUPERTINO, August 2 — Apple has officially released the public beta of iOS 26, unveiling a sweeping software overhaul for iPhone users. The most striking change is the new Liquid Glass design, a fluid, glass-like interface that revamps icons, menus, and animations across the system.
Apple calls it the biggest redesign since iOS 13, aiming to make user interactions more vibrant and immersive without sacrificing familiarity. Beyond aesthetics, iOS 26 introduces powerful new tools through Apple Intelligence, including Live Translation in Messages, Phone, and FaceTime, upgraded Visual Intelligence, and deeper ChatGPT integration via Shortcuts.
Major apps like Phone, Messages, Photos, and Music also see extensive enhancements, while the new Apple Games appcentralizes gaming content. Compatible with devices from iPhone 11 and SE (2nd gen) onward, iOS 26 is now available for public beta testers ahead of its full release later this year.
