As Malaysians look to beat the heat with sea breezes, shaded retreats, and underwater escapes. Semporna leads with a 38% increase, luring travelers with snorkel spots and stilted stays, while Kuala Terengganu’s cultural coastline saw a 37% spike in interest.

Tioman Island followed with a 27% rise, thanks to its jungle-shaded resorts and freshwater waterfalls. Agoda Malaysia Country Director Fabian Teja notes the coast offers more than a vacation — it’s a refuge from the heat.
