KUALA LUMPUR, August 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the Madani Government’s commitment to empowering farmers, breeders, and fishermen, calling them the backbone of Malaysia’s food security.
Highlighting their critical role in sustaining the nation’s survival and sovereignty, Anwar stressed the importance of synergy between federal, state, and agency efforts to modernise agriculture and advance the blue economy.
Reflecting on his past experience as Agriculture Minister, Anwar said the struggles of these communities are close to his heart. Under the 13th Malaysia Plan, the government will continue to strengthen agrofood productivity.
Drive rural development, and ensure future food resilience, with policies designed to uplift these key contributors to national strength and sustainability.
