KOTA KINABALU, August 4 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan will not take sides in the political tussle involving Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional (BN), aiming instead to play a stabilising role to prevent three-cornered fights in the upcoming state election.

Acknowledging the complexities of Sabah’s political landscape, Anwar said PH’s focus is on avoiding further fragmentation and securing a collaborative governance model. On the disputed Ambalat maritime zone, Anwar assured Sabahans that their rights will be fully protected in ongoing talks with Indonesia.

He stressed that any decision regarding the oil-rich Sulawesi Sea territory must involve the Sabah state government and legislative assembly, promising transparent, law-abiding negotiations without compromising sovereignty.
