GEORGE TOWN, August 5 — DAP Penang held a grassroots engagement session on August 2 with members from the Tanjong and Jelutong parliamentary constituencies, as part of a statewide initiative to understand local concerns and reinforce party unity.
State Chairman Steven Sim Chee Keong emphasized the party’s commitment to inclusive leadership and acknowledged the historical importance of both constituencies, once represented by DAP stalwarts like Karpal Singh and Lim Kit Siang.
During the session, local coordinators Lim Hui Ying and R.S.N. Rayer highlighted the importance of Pakatan Harapan’s cooperation, government reform communication, and integrity in public administration, including matters related to the Penang Hindu Endowment Board.
The dialogue also addressed grassroots concerns such as the Mutiara LRT project, MBPP management, preschool licensing, and youth participation, reaffirming DAP Penang’s dedication to listening to its members and strengthening internal cohesion ahead of the party’s 60th anniversary.
