CUPERTINO, August 10 — Apple has officially rolled out the second public beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, following last month’s initial release that met its July deadline.

This latest update arrives after the fifth developer beta, bringing the public beta builds in line with the latest features Apple is preparing for the final versions expected in September. Users can access the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on their devices.

The iOS 26 public beta 2 includes several subtle but notable improvements, such as a toggle for adjusting Camera mode swipe direction, the return of the Select button in Mail, and a redesigned AirDrop icon. Apple fans eager to try the new features can register for free at beta.apple.com, which enables over-the-air installation directly through the Settings app.
