KUALA LUMPUR, August 14 – The Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) has lauded the successful brokering of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, effective midnight 28 July 2025.
This landmark peace agreement, facilitated under the leadership of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, underscores the country’s pivotal role in promoting regional peace and security through diplomacy.
MYC praised all parties for their commitment to dialogue and consensus, reaffirming the importance of the ASEAN Way in resolving conflicts through non-interference and mutual respect. As part of its grassroots diplomacy efforts.
MYC is reaching out to the National Youth Councils of both nations, emphasizing the role of youth and civil society in sustaining peace. The Council urges all sides to honour the ceasefire and work together in ensuring stability and trust across the region.
