KUALA LUMPUR, August 15 – Wadah Pencerdasan Umat Malaysia (WADAH) has strongly criticised the recent misuse of the Qunut Nazilah prayer and baseless accusations made during the 26 July Demonstrasi Baju Hitam in Dataran Merdeka.
WADAH expressed grave concern over the deviation of this sacred supplication for political purposes and condemned the act of accusing a national leader of liwat without evidence or the required four witnesses, a serious offence under Islamic law known as Qazaf.
The organisation called on religious leaders and political figures to uphold Islamic ethics, avoid exploiting religion for political gain, and reject the culture of slander and division. Emphasising unity, respect, and the principles of Islamic moderation.
WADAH urged all Muslims to return to the prophetic tradition of wise counsel, brotherhood, and dignity in public discourse.
