PUTRAJAYA, August 16 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on enforcement agencies to act decisively against all forms of threats to Malaysia’s stability, including bullying, criminal intimidation, and violence.
Speaking at the 20th Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX), Anwar emphasised that democracy must be safeguarded by halting extremist behaviour, arrogance, and incivility through united efforts across all sectors.
Referring to recent controversies, including the upside-down display of the Jalur Gemilang and the death of Form 1 student Zara Qairina Mahathir, Anwar said some individuals were exploiting these issues to provoke unrest.
He warned that there would be no more cautions or warnings, and instructed that action be taken against all provocateurs, regardless of their status or political affiliation, to prevent the nation from “descending into chaos.” The annual MAPPA gathering serves as a platform for the Prime Minister to outline his aspirations to civil servants.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Cabinet ministers including Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.
