BAYAN LEPAS, August 16 – The Penang Signature Gold, Gems & Jewellery Fair (PSG) 2025 officially opened today at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, showcasing over 120 booths from countries including China, the UK, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, India, Japan, and Malaysia.

Since its debut in 2016, the fair has become one of Penang’s most prestigious B2B platforms, attracting around 85% of Malaysia’s gold industry players and over 5,000 professional buyers from across Asia and the Middle East.

Organized by Elite Expo Sdn Bhd with support from the Penang Goldsmiths and Jewellers Association and PETACE, the event features gold, fine jewellery, gemstones, precious metals, machinery, and packaging innovations, alongside high-level forums on market trends and ASEAN gold trade dynamics.

State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai highlighted that Penang’s growing aviation network — with 14 new international and three new domestic direct flights since August 2023 — is strengthening its role as a regional trade hub.

Against a backdrop of rising global gold demand driven by central bank purchases and geopolitical uncertainty, Wong said the timing of PSG 2025 is strategic, providing the industry with a critical platform for sourcing, networking, and navigating the evolving global market. The fair runs until August 17.
