PUTRAJAYA, August 3 — Residents of the PPAM Madani Dalur housing project in Putrajaya have voiced their deep frustration over persistent elevator malfunctions affecting five out of six lifts at the government housing complex, less than two years after the project’s handover.

In an official letter addressed to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and key authorities, the residents detailed repeated breakdowns, despite multiple repairs and component replacements, and demanded a full technical investigation and immediate rectification from developers TRC Synergy and all responsible agencies.

The letter highlights the severe daily impact on senior citizens, parents with young children, people with disabilities, and pregnant women — many of whom must climb flights of stairs due to non-functioning lifts. The residents are demanding a transparent audit, a comprehensive repair plan, and assurance that no repair costs will be passed to them.

They warned that failure to act within 14 days will result in formal complaints to the Housing Tribunal and possibly the MACC, citing a moral and legal obligation to uphold the integrity of the MADANI housing initiative.
