KUALA LUMPUR, August 19 — The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has announced that several suspects linked to the bullying of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir will be charged, while confirming that an inquest into her death will proceed as scheduled.

The AGC stressed that the decision to pursue charges would not interfere with the inquest, which aims to determine whether any criminal elements were involved in the tragedy. The inquest, set to begin on September 3 at the Kota Kinabalu Coroner’s Court, could involve testimonies from up to 195 witnesses.

Zara Qairina’s death, following an alleged bullying incident at her school in Papar, Sabah, has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed public demands for stronger measures to ensure student safety in schools.
