KUALA LUMPUR, August 19 — Sony Corporation, as an official partner of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 (WCH Tokyo 25), will elevate the experience of one of the world’s premier sporting events with advanced imaging, broadcasting, and officiating technologies.
From September 13 to 21, 2025, at Japan National Stadium, Sony’s Alpha™ mirrorless cameras, G Master™ lenses, broadcasting systems, and portable data transmitters will empower global creators to capture and share the energy and triumphs of athletics in real time.
Hawk-Eye Innovations, a Sony group company, will further ensure fair play with its video replay system, introduced across all track and field events. Beyond technology, Sony is investing in the future of sports journalism and community engagement.
Through its partnership with the World Athletics Media Academy, Sony will mentor eleven young photographers worldwide, offering them professional training and on-track shooting opportunities. Accredited photographers will also benefit from Sony’s Camera Service Booth, with access to over 150 cameras and 600 lenses.
Additionally, through Project KIBO, children and their families will be invited to experience athletics and photography workshops, fostering inspiration for the next generation. Visitors in Tokyo can also enjoy the “WORLD ATHLETICS MOMENTS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE” exhibition at Sony Store Ginza and at the stadium grounds, bringing fans closer to the excitement of WCH Tokyo 25.
