KUALA LUMPUR, August 20 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has issued a stern warning that those implicated in selling state secrets will face the full force of the law, stressing that compromising national security is non-negotiable.

He said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has been empowered to conduct a comprehensive investigation into alleged abuses of power within the intelligence agency, including reports of cartels profiting from confidential information, adding that no cover-up will be tolerated.

Responding in the Dewan Rakyat, Anwar confirmed he has briefed the Royal Malaysian Air Force chief and the Intelligence Division director while awaiting the initial report, noting that preliminary findings trace the issue back to 2020.

He reminded critics not to politicise the matter, emphasising that the MADANI Government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and misconduct, and warned that even high-profile figures or those linked to past administrations will not be shielded from prosecution if found guilty.
