GEORGE TOWN, August 20 — The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has announced that traffic along part of Lebuh Pantai, between Lebuh Downing and Lebuh Chulia, and the entire stretch of Gat Lebuh Gereja, between Lebuh Pantai and Pengkalan Weld, will be converted from two-way to one-way beginning 12.01am on September 7, 2025 (Sunday).
The move is part of infrastructure upgrade works in the heritage zone, aimed at improving traffic flow and safety. MBPP advises motorists to take note of the new system and plan their journeys accordingly. The council reiterated its commitment to “Leading While Serving” in implementing the changes.
