GEORGE TOWN, August 21 — A road accident that went viral on social media involving a white Mazda car and a motorcycle at the Jalan Hamilton–Jalan Van Praagh junction has prompted police investigation.
The incident, which occurred at about 5.26pm on August 19, showed the car dangerously overtaking another vehicle before colliding with a motorcycle from the opposite direction. Northeast District Police said the 22-year-old driver escaped unhurt.
While the 53-year-old motorcyclist suffered injuries to his right hand, right leg, and head. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and authorities are urging eyewitnesses to come forward to assist in the probe.
