IPOH, August 26 – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook has reaffirmed that the party will not use government allocations for political programmes, stressing that such funds belong to the people and must be channelled into national development.
Speaking at a DAP dinner event in Ipoh, Loke highlighted that despite being part of the government, the party relies on members’ continued support through ticket purchases and fundraising to sustain its activities.
He emphasised that DAP maintains a strict separation between government and party resources, underscoring that “government funds are for the people, not the party.” The dinner also marked the launch of a fundraising campaign for Perak DAP.
Loke, who also serves as transport minister, reiterated that the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains committed to strengthening the economy, easing people’s burdens and raising living standards.
