PETALING JAYA, August 27 — Former MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker has accused DAP of becoming the very thing it once opposed, calling it “MCA 2.0”. In a Facebook post, Ti criticised DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook for dismissing MCA’s relevance, pointing out this was the fourth time Loke had publicly belittled the party.
Ti argued that while DAP once positioned itself as a righteous alternative, it has since mirrored MCA’s weaknesses, functioning even “worse than MCA”. He said DAP, once led by figures like Lim Kit Siang and the late Karpal Singh who fought against corruption and Umno dominance, has failed to deliver on its own promises.
Citing the shelving of local government elections, lack of recognition for the Unified Examination Certificate, and muted responses to corruption issues. Ti added that DAP no longer needs MCA because “it has already become MCA 2.0,” adopting the same playbook of excuses and unfulfilled pledges despite once rallying voters with the slogan “Ubah” for change.
